Fire Door Inspector Location: Inside the M25 (London & Home Counties) Salary: £38,000 – £45,000 per annum (DOE) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Posted on behalf of our client by Thornton Technical Solutions About the Role Thornton Technical Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Fire Door Inspector to join a growing passive fire protection team operating across London and the Home Counties. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out detailed fire door inspections across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and public sector properties, ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive fire door inspections across multiple sites. Identify defects, compliance issues, and remedial requirements. Produce detailed inspection reports, including photographic evidence. Ensure inspections are completed in line with FDIS, BM TRADA, and relevant fire safety standards. Liaise with clients, contractors, and site management teams. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Provide recommendations for remedial works where required. Requirements Previous experience as a Fire Door Inspector. Strong understanding of fire door legislation and compliance requirements. Experience using digital inspection and reporting systems. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Full UK Driving Licence. Ability to travel across sites within the M25. Desirable Qualifications FDIS Diploma. BM TRADA Fire Door Inspection Qualification. FIRAS or IFC experience. CSCS Card. Package £38,000 – £45,000 basic salary. Company vehicle or car allowance. Fuel card. Pension scheme.
